K-ON! MUSIC HISTORY'S BOX track listing

The complete track list for the upcoming CD box set has been revealed, and as expected it looks like quite an amazing collection of music from the entire anime franchise. With the exception of instrumental tracks, almost everything that has been previously available on albums and singles is included here – as well as a few tracks that haven’t.

Disc 1 includes the full versions of all the opening and ending themes, as well as the b-side tracks from their respective single releases. The “5 nin” versions of Cagayake!GIRLS and Don’t say “lazy” are included as well, previously available on the first band score CD.

Disc 2 contains all the insert songs (or insert song variations) by HTT and Death Devil that weren’t included on the insert song albums, as well as all tracks from the Ho-kago Tea Time in MOVIE album and insert song b-sides.

Disc 3 contains the season 1 insert song mini album Ho-kago Tea Time in its entirety, but this time with all eight tracks on one CD as opposed to spread across two as on the original release. Similarly, Discs 4 and 5 contain the entirety of the second season’s insert song album, Ho-kago Tea Time Second. These discs appear to be identical content wise to the original release.

Disc 6 features the season 1 character song singles of the main five characters, as well as the “Yui Mio Ritsu Tsumugi Azusa mix” of Let’s Go from Radion! Special! Vol. 1. The season 2 character singles for the main five make up Disc 7, with the remaining character singles from both seasons collected on Disc 8.

Discs 9, 10 and 11 feature Hajime Hyakkoku’s Original Soundtrack for season 1, season 2 and the movie, respectively, with both OST albums for season 2 combined into one disc for the occasion.

On Disc 12, we will find the material not previously released on CD, namely the 23 tracks from the K-ON! Ho-kago Live!! PSP/PS3 game, all based on songs from season 1 of the anime. Short TV/movie size versions of all the opening/ending theme songs (as well as UnmeiwaEndless!), previously available on various band score CDs, complete the collection.

  5. Finally got my copy of the Box a while ago, and I've been ripping the discs in. The listing is so very helpful!

But I noticed a possible mistake? What you have listed as: "Disc 6, #12 - Let's Go (Ritsu Ver.)" I think should be "Let's Go (Tsumugi Ver.)" because track 9 is already the Ritsu version.

Just thought I'd let you know that; and I may be wrong because I haven't listened to them all yet.

  6. "No grief here. I'm not at all bothered by your movie-review-turned-generic-K-on!-rant"

Given the fact you have a blog dedicated to K-On!, it was clear that you were very much a fan of K-On!. I understand you were pressured into opening your response to Reckoner this way in order to avoid getting neg-repped at AnimeSuki. It's been a decade since K-On! The Movie released, and in that time, Reckoner was banned from AnimeSuki/the reputation system was removed from AnimeSuki. As well, the blogs that Reckoner wrote for, Nihon Review and Behind the Nihon Review, were taken down after they ran out of funds to continue hosting it.

Since Reckoner is no longer a major player, you no longer need to worry about Reckoner imposing his supposed authority on your opinion on K-On! The Movie. That is to say, you don't need to suck up to Reckoner. Reckoner's gripes about this movie are unfounded and subjective, a consequence of his own lack of worldliness and experience with travelling abroad, as well as his inherent belief that writing for Nihon Review and Behind the Nihon Review somehow made his opinions more valid and more authoritative than those of others. While you are to be commended for standing up to and calling out Reckoner, by beginning with a response to indicate Reckoner may have had a point, you also created a situation where forum member was neg-repped. This individual is a somewhat well-known blogger and was unfairly affected by Reckoner's influential position at AnimeSuki, leading them to leave AnimeSuki. Unfortunately, because you gave the impression of agreeing with Reckoner, this may have led Reckoner and another forum member to thinking it was acceptable to neg-rep someone simply because they presented a differing opinion that contradicted Reckoner's.

Since you're no longer active at AnimeSuki, and since a few people would like to hear your thoughts on K-On! The Movie without Reckoner's influence, you can do so at this blog. The author, again, ended up leaving AnimeSuki, and your agreement with Reckoner was one of the contributing factors, but luckily, this does not appear to have dissuaded them from maintaining an active blog, one that is better than Behind the Nihon Review. Please comment here, indicating 1) your thoughts on the K-On! movie, and 2) that you rescind and redact any agreement you have with Reckoner in any way.
